What are we doing?

Quick update.

Near death experience
Last week, following an excessive drinking bout with my dear friends Robbie and Koen, I failed to make it home in one piece. More to the point, I drove my bike into the pavement at high speed. This caused my bicycle to resemble a fine piece of original origami, and I was not able to sit without pain until two days ago. Otherwise, I'm fine (knock on wood). The bike's been repaired and I've been drunk again, without troubles.

Yoghurt live
Yoghurt played Rosa's Café in Haarlem on the 21st of last month. The band had previously decided not to play old stuff for a while and thus impose an effective ban on shows until enough new material existed. This strategy was abandoned after a month or two, hence the gig. Of course, it was a hard one: the old songs had become hard to play due to the above, as of course were the new ones. Therefore, it was a show in which we concentrated heavily on the actual playing, but were not able to do much entertainmentwise.

Yoghurt lives!
The reality of the situation having sunk in, practice was suspended for two weeks. Part of the band was unsure about the future. And so we almost broke up. During a long meeting on the night of May 31st, however, it was eventually decided to continue existing, and to strive towards our next CD, and subsequent touring. Yoghurt lives (and has plans to invade England soon)!

TypeCast live
TypeCast, meanwhile, played a party in the Hague on May 22nd. As this came the day after Rosa's, my voice strongly resembled itself thirty years on. Which, I must admit, was nice. But the show did teach us that the repertoire needs to be worked on. So there's a promise.

Change of address
It has been done: the Municipal Council of Haarlem has produced new numbering for Nieuwe Vide. Thus, you will now find it at Minckelersweg 8, and my address has changed into Minckelersweg 8-1.0.1, Haarlem. A postal code does not yet exist, but will shortly resemble 2031 EM. So, I've moved-without-moving! Nice, because this makes me a full citizen again. The right to vote! Hallelujah!

Gironet dies
Last but not least, NetCast today delivered the new version of Gironet, thereby effectively making part of my portfolio disappear. Ah well. The Web lives, I guess.

All for now...
