Five more dwellings to be demolished before we are truly out of fire hazard, true, but nonetheless, and particularly when looking at the picture I took a few weeks ago, of the last fire close to here, it really does feel a heckload safer, with a plain of rubble in front of one's window, than it did when those buildings were still there, abandoned. Too bad that, today, we had to repeat the roofmending of a few days ago, but today is a fine day, and if that rerepair turns out to be successful, can only get better yet. Gimme rain! |
