Windows XP Professional!
"If it ain't broken, don't fix it." "Never change a winning team." It's very much me. So, I stubbornly stuck with my Windows '98. Reboots, after all, were never a problem, just so long as I know why and what to do when faced with them. And I did. Everything peachy keen.

But this week, the budget allowed me to upgrade my machine to 1 Gigabyte of physical memory (and daily activities had been asking for that for some time, that is, the 128 existing Megabytes no longer sufficed). This turned out not to go smoothly, because (lesson): Windows '98 cannot handle 1 Gigabyte of physical memory. Bits fall over. 512 is max. This, therefore, became a drama. Until friend Warmenhoven brought the solution around. And notwithstanding his eternal nagging about the need of newishness, I must admit he's right, this time over: Windows XP Professional is a dream. More stable, faster, simpler, more flexible. Never thought I'd ever say it, about Microware (but I should have listend to Luc (J), who's seldom wrong).

And that it looks like Fisher Price is true - but this is surmountable, for tweakable. Check out my desktop :-).
